Appliance Circuits

Appliance Circuits

Did you know that one of the main focal points of your home is the kitchen? Not only does it have to be practical but most people want it to look beautiful too. Many times we have heard there is not sufficient space, not enough circuits for our appliances that we want to use. Every time we plug in the crock pot, the circuit trips.

If you plan on remodeling your kitchen, or if you want new appliances installed, then call John's Electric today. It’s critical that you make sure you have the correct circuit for what you intend to use, and that you have enough circuits, and they are the right size.

Our electrical experts can inspect your electrical system and wiring and see if it’s adequate to have a new appliance installed with your current electrical system. We can make sure you have the correct power, voltage, amps and circuit wiring for your new appliances. We can also make sure you have life-saving devices, such as GFCI protection where it’s needed.

There is nothing worse than spending thousands of dollars on new appliances to find out that you can’t use them because the wiring is not the right size or in other words, it can’t take the electrical load of the new appliance.

Many of the homes in Birmingham are older, with that said times have changed since the 40s and now, we have more and more appliances that we use in the kitchen today than what we did in the past, and it’s critical that we have plenty of circuits to meet the demands of today.

If you plan on purchasing new appliances, or perhaps you’re remodeling your kitchen, then call your hometown electrician, John's Electric today! We will make sure you have the most electrical efficient kitchen in the neighborhood with good lighting and plenty of circuits.

Does my main water line need replacing?

Tuesday, June 13, 2017

While commonly taken for granted, the fresh water coming into your home or business is crucial to your daily life. The main water line that carries the fresh water is typically very durable and built to last. However, several factors cause breakage in the line. Commonly, these factors include corrosion, tree roots, or just the type of plumbing pipe used when the home or commercial building was built.

Spring is the perfect time for an electrical safety inspection

Tuesday, May 16, 2017

Electrical circuitry and panels tend to get ignored throughout the year and only get addressed when you experience a short circuit or electrical trips. As a homeowner, you may not know everything involved in the electrical circuitry of your home but there are still some questions you should ask your electrical inspector and Spring is the perfect time to do it!

No matter the size of the job, from changing out old electrical paneling to major renovations to your home or property, you should always ask your electrical inspector whether or not your home’s electrical fittings are up to date and in compliance with current regulations and building codes.

Secondly, be sure your electrical inspector pays attention to the safety of your electrical panel and makes sure that they are properly insulated to avoid electrical shock. Panels must also never be placed near damp or wet areas.

Understanding your electrical consumption is also important. Washing machines, televisions and air conditioners consume significant amounts of electricity, and it is your responsibility as the homeowner to be sure they are connected to the right circuitry to avoid electrical shorts or fluctuations in voltage.

Lastly, once the inspection is completed and any necessary repairs made, have your inspector run a double check to be sure all of your electrical circuitry is working properly. Ask your inspector to provide you with a complete report of all inspections and repairs done.

Aubrey and Jeremy were awesome! I have an old house with old wiring and needed to install a new Range and above Range Microwave. They worked very hard to run new wiring to the breaker box in the basement, installed new plugs, and installed the appliances with great care.

Service was above and beyond excellent. Stuck with us and the power company until the true root of the problem was found. Worked around our schedule and budget restraints. Left things clean and was very respectful. Would definitely recommend him and use him again.

Solved a problem thus restoring my power to some areas of my house

Had a number of outlets not working and lost AC in 97 degree weather--he came twice the 1st time approx 1hr 20 minutes--wasn't able to locate problem---this I put on myself as I was unaware of putting a breaker box behind a vanity that hadn't been move since purchase of my house. Second visit after some search found problem 1hr

OK the skinny--I think he was professional--on time

Was upfront on costs

Problem once the second box was located was an easy fix so thought a touch high on price--that said it was upfront and had I had the answer to location as I should have I think the billing would be much lower so will put this on myself. In other words I don't think he would have ripped me off

Bonus was after having 4 others trying to blame AC and being told I needed a new one---he said everything in my problems was electrical--and viewing my AC said it was fine--no need of new unit--for the moment if right saving me $$$$
