Pool and Spa Lighting

Pool and Spa Lighting

We love pools and spas here at John's Electric. There is nothing better than taking advantage of the beautiful Alabama weather than going home to your swimming pool after a hard day’s work and cooling off in the pool. It’s very relaxing. The ambiance that comes from your pool and spa fixtures is equally as important as the pool itself. Everybody will comment on how beautiful your pool is.

With that said nothing is worse than having a nice beautiful pool, and the lights stop working in it. We get calls all the time at John's Electric to repair pool and spa fixtures. This is understandable because if you don’t know what you’re doing when it comes to pool and spa fixtures, electricity and water can be a deadly combination. It’s always best to call an expert from John's Electric.

We can install new fixtures, lamps and make repairs to your spa or pool. We also can install and repair the electrical components of your pool, such as motors and time clocks.

Is your pool safe?

If you have any questions or concerns about your pool or spa, please give us a call today. We can do a safety check and make sure your pool has been properly grounded and bonded.

Grounding is one of the most important aspects of your electrical system. Bonding is a crucial aspect of your electrical system for your home and your pool and spa. Because without it, if something goes wrong and an ungrounded conductor comes in contact with a guard rail, the pool enclosure or the water itself, the unexpected victim will receive a shock and potentially be electrocuted due to the un-cleared fault.

To keep it very simple bonding is connecting electrical devices together in the attempt to trip a breaker if an ungrounded conductor touches surface metal associated with the system.

Your electrical system, including your pool and spa, must be grounded and bonded. It must be tied to the actual earth. Electrical grounding and bonding should only be handled by a licensed contractor. No exceptions.

The National Electric Code has more rules when it comes to grounding than any other component because proper grounding and bonding practices means life and death. If you have any questions or concerns about the grounding and bonding in your home or business, please call the experts at John's Electric today.

Whether the issue is large or small, problems with electricity are often ignored until they become apparent.  It's easy to avoid thinking about problems that can occur in our appliances, circuit breakers, wall outlets, and even light bulbs. But often, ignoring issues while they are small leads to more significant problems and the necessity for the help of an electrician.

Aubrey did an excellent job with moving our electrical main service. He coordinated with Alabama Power and the Hoover inspectors and everyone was there when they should be. He knew that we needed a special disconnect and ordered the right one. We gave him a key and trusted him to be in and out of the house and yard when he needed to. He kept us informed, did a quality job and went over and above to come out to check on things for us after hours one evening and teach us a few things. Reasonable price as well. A true professional and I will recommend him again.

Solved a problem thus restoring my power to some areas of my house

Had a number of outlets not working and lost AC in 97 degree weather--he came twice the 1st time approx 1hr 20 minutes--wasn't able to locate problem---this I put on myself as I was unaware of putting a breaker box behind a vanity that hadn't been move since purchase of my house. Second visit after some search found problem 1hr

OK the skinny--I think he was professional--on time

Was upfront on costs

Problem once the second box was located was an easy fix so thought a touch high on price--that said it was upfront and had I had the answer to location as I should have I think the billing would be much lower so will put this on myself. In other words I don't think he would have ripped me off

Bonus was after having 4 others trying to blame AC and being told I needed a new one---he said everything in my problems was electrical--and viewing my AC said it was fine--no need of new unit--for the moment if right saving me $$$$
